This privacy policy explains what personal information VistavieVivien (vistavievivien.co.uk) collects when you visit the blog, how it is used, and what rights you have. The blog is run from the UK, so it follows UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) for all visitors, wherever you are.

This blog is run by Vivien, a private individual. You can reach me about anything in this policy through the contact form.
What information is collected
- Comments: When you leave a comment, the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, and your IP address and browser details are stored. This helps with spam detection and lets me reply. Your email address is never published.
- Contact form: If you send a message, your name, email address and message are used only to reply to you.
- Email subscriptions: If you subscribe to new posts, your email address is used only to send you new posts. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- Statistics: Anonymous visit statistics (for example, which posts are read and roughly where visitors come from) help me understand what readers find useful.
Hosting and third-party services
This blog is hosted on WordPress.com, run by Automattic Inc. Automattic processes data such as comments, messages, subscriptions and site statistics on my behalf, and may use cookies to run the site, prevent spam (Akismet) and show avatars (Gravatar). Posts may contain embedded content (for example, videos or images from other websites). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website, which may collect data about you under its own privacy policy.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. WordPress.com uses essential cookies to run the site and remember things like your comment details, and statistics cookies to count visits. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings and through the cookie banner shown on the site.
How long data is kept
Comments and their details are kept for as long as the comment is published. Subscription emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are deleted when they are no longer needed.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. Just send a request through the contact form. If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
